[Star Daily News = Reporter Gyu-jun Hwang] It was announced on the 2nd that 'Dual Plane Plus,' a breast augmentation method developed by Dr. Dong-yeon Hwang, Chief Director of NANA Plastic Surgery, has been published in PRS (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery), the academic journal of the plastic surgery society.
Dual Plane Plus applies the dual plane technique to suit the Korean body type, and is described as a surgical method that takes the conventional dual plane—in which the upper part of the implant is placed beneath the pectoral muscle and the lower part beneath the mammary tissue—one step further.
While the feel may differ depending on the type of breast implant, achieving a feel similar to real skin has long been considered the key point of breast augmentation. The Dual Plane Plus technique places the upper part of the implant beneath the pectoral muscle and then covers the lower part with fascia, wrapping it in a double layer, which is said to help improve the feel.
Dr. Hwang said, "The current trend in breast augmentation is to satisfy not only breast size but also shape and feel at the same time. That is why the choice of breast implant and surgical method is important for a firm feel and a natural silhouette. We built surgical data for each case using various implants, including not only micro-textured types but also teardrop and round breast augmentation, and developed the appropriate surgical method based on this."
