[Korea Foodservice News = Reporter Na-woon Kim] Those considering breast augmentation look for information and seek advice through various channels, but it is not easy to find the information they need amid the flood of indiscriminate information.

The first thing that troubles those preparing for breast augmentation is which implant to choose. As of 2019, there are as many as eight implant brands on the Korean market. Each company emphasizes slightly different strengths. Implants are divided into various types by shape and surface material, and satisfaction can vary depending on the choice of implant.  

The implant that has recently become hugely popular among female patients considering breast augmentation is the micro-textured implant.  

Implants can be broadly divided into three types by surface: the smooth type with a smooth surface, which came first; the textured type with a rough surface, which came later; and the most recent, the micro-textured implant.

 Since each implant has its own characteristics, it is unreasonable for a patient to judge on their own from text or photos which implant suits them best.

Dr. Dong-yeon Hwang of NANA Plastic Surgery said, "With many patients visiting recently for breast surgery, the most frequently asked question is 'Which implant is the best?'" He added, "The right breast implant depends on the patient's chest wall, the thickness of the soft tissue, and the desired size and shape."

  Because every patient's physical conditions and circumstances differ, it is necessary to choose the implant that best suits each individual. Assessing from multiple angles whether to prioritize the external shape after surgery or place more weight on naturalness and feel, and making the choice in consultation with a specialist, will lead to a more satisfying breast augmentation.
