Which Breast Surgery Method Is Suitable for Sagging Breasts?

[Star Daily News = Reporter Gyu-jun Hwang] Among the physical changes experienced after pregnancy and childbirth, some women report feeling down about breast sagging. After the mammary tissue and fat swell for breastfeeding, the stretched breast tissue shrinks once breastfeeding ends, which can cause the breasts to sag and lose elasticity. As a result, a growing number of women are considering breast surgery to relieve this discomfort and restore their femininity.

For sagging breasts, the surgical method varies depending on the degree of sagging. If the sagging is not very severe, breast augmentation can be performed by choosing an implant suited to one's body type and degree of skin sagging. If the sagging is severe, a sag-free breast shape can be achieved by making additional incisions around the areola or along the vertical line beneath the breast to correct the skin sagging.

A precise understanding of one's physical condition and a surgical plan suited to it are therefore essential elements of successful breast surgery. If surgery is performed forcibly without properly considering the condition and shape of the sagging breasts, various problems such as an unnatural breast shape, asymmetry, and a wide gap between the breasts can occur.

Dr. Dong-yeon Hwang of NANA Plastic Surgery advised, "Since breast surgery is a highly complex procedure, careful choice is important. It helps to have surgery after consulting a breast surgery specialist who can comprehensively analyze each individual's breast structure, distribution of mammary tissue, and skin condition, and perform the surgery with the appropriate method."

In addition, although surgical scars may vary depending on the individual's skin type, they can be minimized through post-surgical scar care, so it is also necessary to check the aftercare offered after surgery.
