Platysmaplasty
Platysmaplasty involves tying the platysma muscle below the chin and pulling the skin under the chin up to
restore a youthful and elastic facial contour. This procedure is commonly sought by women between the ages of 40 and 60.
What is the platysma muscle
in Platysmaplasty?
The platysma is a thin sheet-like muscle layer located just below the
skin of the neck and chin. It extends downward from the collarbone,
crossing over the neck to the chest (pectoral) and triangular
(shoulder muscle) muscles before reaching the neck. As one ages,
the muscle fibers separate, appearing as two distinct muscles.
Over time, the fibers that connect and support the muscles weaken,
causing the muscles to sag downward.
Immediate Changes
after Surgery
PP, Platysmaplasty allows for immediate confirmation of noticeable
changes after the procedure. As time passes, the jaw and neck lines
gradually recover, becoming more vibrant.
