A Balanced V-Line, in Proportion:
3-Point Facial Contouring in Korea at NANA Plastic Surgery
Square jaw, cheekbones, and chin, planned as one. 3-point facial contouring analyzes your facial bone and soft tissue together and adjusts how much bone to reshape, for a naturally slim, balanced line that suits your own proportions.

Facial contouring should not simply make a face smaller. True refinement comes from analyzing each person's facial bones and soft tissue in detail, then adjusting the amount of bone reshaping so the whole face reads as balanced. NANA's 3-point facial contouring is a combined procedure that brings together square jaw reduction, cheekbone reduction, and chin surgery, using every method needed to build an ideal line for your face. This guide covers what it is, the techniques involved, recovery, and how NANA plans it safely.
Key Takeaways
- 3-point facial contouring combines square jaw reduction, cheekbone reduction, and chin surgery into one balanced plan.
- It is a customized bone procedure, adjusting the amount of resection to your own facial bone and soft tissue rather than a fixed template.
- Surgery is planned with a precise 3D-CT analysis of bone, muscle, soft tissue, and nerve positioning before the first incision.
- Most incisions are intraoral, so no scar remains outside, with titanium double fixation to help prevent non-union.
- Return to daily life is around 5 to 7 days, supported by a structured post-surgery recovery care solution.
What Is Facial Contouring?

Facial contouring is a customized surgery that analyzes an individual's facial bones and soft tissue in detail and adjusts the amount of bone resection to create a balanced line and overall harmony. Rather than reducing size alone, it considers the impression and proportion of the whole face.
What an ideal facial line looks like
As a general guide, an ideal balance is when the distance from the hairline to between the brows, from between the brows to the base of the nose, and from the base of the nose to the tip of the chin are all in an equal 1:1:1 ratio. The distance between the two cheekbones projects about 10 percent beyond the temporal area, and the distance between the angles of the lower jaw is reduced by about 20 percent compared with the temporal area.
The 3 Types of Facial Contouring at NANA
NANA tidies an overdeveloped jaw and cheekbones to find a slim V-line, combining the procedures your face needs.
A long curved ostectomy that resects the jaw so there is no secondary angle or step effect, for a natural V-line.
The wide lateral cheekbone is pushed inward and fixed in place for a slim, three-dimensional face.
The chin is refined to the facial proportions, completing a perfectly slim V-line down to the tip of the chin.
Only the outer layer of bone is cut to reduce the thickness of the jawbone, so the line looks slim from the front as well.
A 3-point contour combines square jaw reduction, cheekbone reduction, and chin surgery. A 2-point contour combines square jaw and cheekbone reduction for a smooth, slim V-line from any angle.

NANA's Facial Contouring Key Points
NANA works to build beauty through every available method and technique, choosing the most suitable approach for your bone, soft tissue, and skin type.
No skin sagging worry
A high-position cheekbone ostectomy with the right rotation minimizes skin sagging after cheekbone reduction.
Low scar burden
Surgery is done through intraoral or minimal incisions, and post-surgery care helps keep scarring to a minimum.
Delicate resection
A delicate, long curved ostectomy leaves no angular bone along the jaw line, for a smooth jaw line.
Secure double fixation
To help prevent non-union, firm titanium fixation pins are used for double fixation.
Surgery Information
These are general guides. Swelling and recovery speed can vary with your bone structure, skin condition, and the extent of surgery.
Post-Surgery Recovery Care Solution
Post-surgery care matters as much as the surgery itself in shaping the result. NANA runs a recovery care solution for facial contouring patients.
- Swelling-relief mask and vitamin care to support circulation in the body
- Radiofrequency care and Healite for faster recovery
- Focused skin care for the dead skin and sebum that build up when washing is difficult during recovery
What to Keep in Mind After Surgery
- Washing and hygiene. Until the stitches are removed, wipe areas other than the surgical site with a wet towel. Brushing is possible from the day after surgery with a small toothbrush, and gargle with prescribed solution after meals, roughly every 3 to 4 hours.
- Progress. Stimulating the surgical site or a strong impact can cause bleeding or a hematoma, so avoid pressure on the face. Reduced sensation in the cheeks, lips, or teeth can occur but improves gradually over 1 to 2 months, sometimes up to a year.
- Swelling. For the first 3 days, cold compresses are recommended to help prevent bleeding and reduce swelling. From day 4, warm compresses help manage swelling and bruising. Take care against frostbite or burns while sensation is dull.
- Meals. From the day after surgery for 1 week, eat thin porridge and avoid straws. From 1 to 4 weeks (6 weeks for cheekbone surgery), eat soft foods only and avoid hard, chewy foods.
- Face band. Wear for 3 days after surgery. From day 4 to 1 week, leave it off, then wear it intermittently from 1 week to 1 month to help the skin contract, though this is not essential.
- After cheekbone surgery. Avoid nose blowing and opening the mouth wide (more than three fingers) for 6 weeks, while keeping natural mouth movement to prevent jaw joint adhesion.
