NANA HOSPITAL LIFTING

Platysma Plasty(PP)

Platysma Plasty involves tying the platysma muscle below the chin and pulling the skin under the chin up to
restore a youthful and elastic facial contour. This procedure is commonly sought by women between the ages of 40 and 60.

What is the platysma muscle
in Platysma Plasty?

The platysma is a thin sheet-like muscle layer located just below the skin of the neck and chin. It extends downward from the collarbone, crossing over the neck to the chest (pectoral) and riangular (shoulder muscle) muscles before reaching the neck. As one ages, the muscle fibers separate, appearing as two distinct muscles. Over time, the fibers that connect and support the muscles weaken, causing the muscles to sag downward.

Immediate Changes
after Surgery

PP, Platysma Plasty allows for immediate confirmation of noticeable changes after the procedure. As time passes, the jaw and neck lines gradually recover, becoming more vibrant.

Q&A

Q

What's the recovery process for the PP, Platysma Plasty?

Immediately after surgery, you may feel a tightening sensation in the neck.
However, this is normal and will naturally subside over time.
It is important to avoid strenuous exercise or activity immediately after surgery.
Bruising and swelling may occur around the jawline, neck, and ears, but typically subside within 2-3 days.

Q

What's the difference from the
neck lifting surgery?

Neck lifting surgery aims to improve sagging and neck wrinkles in anti-aging procedures,
often performed in conjunction with facelifts and commonly using the behind-the-ear incision method.
In contrast, Platysma Plasty focuses on tightening the platysma muscle in the neck,
providing a larger and more pronounced effect than neck lifting surgery.
There are significant differences in the techniques used and the results obtained.
