Washing, Showering
& Makeup

Starting on the third day post-surgery, you can wash your face.

When you want to shower or wash your face, please apply waterproof tape over the wound area and remove it afterwards, making sure to dry the area thoroughly.

Use hot/cold compresses at appropriate times post-surgery.

For the first 3 days, cold compresses are recommended to help reduce swelling and prevent bleeding.
From the fourth day onwards, we recommend warm compresses for efficient management of swelling and bruising.

Sensations & Healing

In the 2-3 weeks following surgery, you may experience bruising and swelling.

Additionally, for 2-3 months, you might notice lumpiness where damaged fat tissues or blood has clumped together. However, these clumps gradually dissipate after 3 months.

Skin sensation in the surgical area may be dull.

The skin sensation in the surgical area might dull, but there's no need to worry as most cases improve within 3-6 months.

Swelling Management and Band Wear

Swelling will gradually decrease over a span of 3 months or more.

While individual experiences may vary, swelling generally reduces over 3 months, but around 6 months are required to see the final shape fully recovered. Wearing a facial band constantly for 2 weeks helps in achieving stable results.
We ask you to wear the facial band at all times for 2 weeks, followed by wearing it during sleep or for about 8 hours a day for the next 6 weeks.

Scar Care

A slight amount of blood mixed with the anaesthetic solution might seep from the incision sites (behind the ears and under the chin), but this is no cause for concern.

To assist with reducing friction at the incision sites, apply DuoDERM to the affected areas. Using a scar relief ointment can be helpful for mitigating scars at the incision sites.

Alcohol & Smoking

Please avoid drinking and smoking for a month post-surgery.

Consuming alcohol and tobacco can negatively affect bleeding, wound healing, and can increase the risk of infections. For the best recovery, it's advised to abstain for a month.
